ON THE RISE Up-and-Coming Actors Under 25  Blake Lively Age: 20 Credits: Gossip Girl, Accepted, Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants Coming soon: Sisterhood 2, Untitled JJ Abrams Project (aka Cloverfield) Hotness factor: Got her role in Sisterhood simply by giving the producers her photo, since she had no credits to put on a resume. Now the blonde bombshell is garnering attention as Serena in The CW’s break-out hit, Gossip Girl.  Michael Cera Age: 19 Credits: Arrested Development, Superbad Coming Soon: Juno, Youth in Revolt Hotness factor: His roles in Arrested, summer smash Superbad and Juno suggest that Cera has been typecast as the shy, puppy-eyed geek. We say ‘what the hell’s wrong with that?’ Cera’s superb comic timing will take him far.  Olivia Wilde Age: 23 Credits: The OC, Alpha Dog, Turistas, The Black Donnellys Now showing: Recently joined the cast of highly-rated FOX show, House. Hotness factor: Stunning looks and the talent to match. Plus, Wilde’s career wasn’t exactly hurt by her much-hyped onscreen romance with Mischa Barton in The OC.  Emile Hirsch Age: 22 Credits: The Girl Next Door, Alpha Dog, Into The Wild Coming Soon: Speed Racer, The Air I Breathe Hotness factor: After a succession of well-received performances, Emile may have finally scored his ticket to A-List with the lead in the Wachowski brothers’ big screen version of Speed Racer, which will hit theaters in May 2008.  Missy Peregrym Age: 25 Credits: Stick It, Heroes (reality-altering Candice) Now showing: As love interest Andi on The CW’s Reaper. Hotness factor: If you saw gymnastics comedy Stick It, you’ll know that this former model can stir up a smoldering mix of bad ass attitude and sex appeal. And if you haven’t seen Stick It, get thee to BlockyB’s now!  Thomas Dekker Age: 19 Credits: Heroes (Claire’s buddy, Zach), CSI, 7th Heaven Coming Soon: Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles Hotness factor: This kid has been acting since he was seven years old and it shows. His massive list of TV credits has finally paid off with his new role as John Connor in the much-anticipated mid-season FOX series, Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles.  Ellen Page Age: 20 Credits: X-Men: The Last Stand, Hard Candy Coming Soon: Juno, Smart People, Jack and Diane Hotness factor: Playing Kitty Pryde in X3 was certainly a nice career boost but it’s movies like Juno that are positioning Canadian actress Page as the new indie darling. She’d better start clearing a shelf for those awards now.  Lizzy Caplan Age: 25 Credits: Mean Girls, Related, The Class Coming Soon: Untitled JJ Abrams Project, Crossing Over, Bachelor No. 2 Hotness factor: She may never play a better role than Mean Girls’ Janis Ian but irregardless, the ubercool Angelino actress is racking up an impressive resume. Some of her future movie castmates include Harrison Ford, Sean Penn and Kate Hudson.  Jay Baruchel Age: 25 Credits: Knocked Up, Million Dollar Baby Coming Soon: Fanboys, Tropic Thunder Hotness factor: He has that loveable geek thing going and his stock will continue to rise when Star Wars comedy Fanboys is released in January and the Ben Stiller comedy Tropic Thunder hits in July next year.
