MTV Producer: Kevin Tancharoen Print E-mail
Written by Michelle Chan

Blind Date. Flavor of Love. Fear Factor. Breaking Up with Shannon Doherty. In a world where everyone and their mom has a camera crew in tow, you’ve seriously got to step it up if you’re bringing another one of these bad boys to the plate.

Kevin Tancharoen, a 22-year-old producer/director/creator, is braving the possibility of cursing the world with another mindless half hour of babble (ahem, House of Carters, ahem) with his new series, TwentyFourSeven.

The Entourage-inspired show (which follows a group of friends trying to make it in Hollywood) will be next in the line of reality-drama hybrids to be featured on MTV that we love so much, like Laguna Beach and 8th & Ocean. Considering that drama filled “reality” shows are probably the biggest guilty pleasure for anyone with eyes, things are looking big for TwentyFourSeven and Kevin Tancharoen.

So how exactly, at 22, did Kevin Tancharoen end up with an MTV reality show? While most twenty-somethings opt to send in some shameless home video detailing why they would be the perfect stranger to pick to live in a house, work together with a few other randoms, and have their lives taped, Kevin decided to approach the network in a slightly different manner.

As a young’n prodigy dancer Kevin already had a resume packing lots of big names, having worked with Britney, Christina, Jessica and the boy-band formerly known as *NSYNC. In 2004, he had even directed a fun-times-dancing-for-kids DVD, Jammax Kids. Like the millions of VHS cassettes that flow through the MTV doors during Road Rules casting season, this DVD was Kevin’s golden ticket.

Kevin’s ventures with MTV rerouted his career back to his lifelong obsession of filmmaking... and special effects. “I started off as a little kid wanting to be like the Stan Winston guy who does all the special effects and creature shots.” Kevin described, “You know the Ninja Turtle animatronics masks and all that kind of stuff. I even went to class for that when I was thirteen and it was amazing.”

Amazing, also, is how Kevin has been able to keep a level head despite living life in the fast lane. “I know to be here in Hollywood at my age, it’s very easy to get sucked into the hipster, clubbing world,” Kevin explained. “TwentyFourSeven is about those kinds of guys, but I stay out of it. The process is much more seducing than the lifestyle.” And unlike most scatter brained 22-year-olds, Kevin’s got his eye on the prize. “It’s always about the integrity of the project instead of just me being the director on the set and trying to act like I know what I’m doing all the time,” Kevin said. “Because honestly I don’t know what I’m doing at all times.”

Obviously extremely focused, Kevin already has plans set for a future in scripted TV and then, hopefully, in feature length films. And although he’s practically a vet of the entertainment industry already, Kevin’s far from scrapping his oh-so-LA job and starting a profession as an accountant. “The process of moviemaking is still magical for me,” he said. “It hasn’t lost its touch with all the technical stuff.” Clearly, TwentyFourSeven will only mark the beginning for this triple-threat entertainer.

Crack in a Box

Okay, so my friend Michelle and I joined this online RPG. On said RPG, we met Kristi, Alyssa, Liz, Marissa, and Sammy. Two of us live in Washington, three in Massachusets, one in Utah, and Sammy lives in England. We started talking in real life, but have never met face to face, but we all really want to. Except for Sammy. Michelle and I hate her with a passion, but and it could get really ugly (and hilarious) if we actually met.

Kristi, Alyssa, and Liz are going to make a road trip summer '08, first to Utah to get Marissa, and then to Washington to see Michelle and I. But I think it would be way better if we met on a reality tv series. Don't you?
make a reality show out of this! if you think the public can handle it! ;)

SCRAPBOOK
written by Franchelle Valentine , June 28, 2007
Hey guys!!,
My name is Franchelle Valentine and I'm a Jr. at Homewood-Flossmoor Highschool in Flossmoor IL; a suburb of Chicago! I'm writing to ask how come you guys are never in Chicago? Or better yet in the burbs..some of the most interesting things happen in the burbs. Well I'm trying to put together a documentary about how life changes through the years. My plan is to start taping this year. We're deffinitly growing up and i wanted to start recording life as it is for people like us starting from Junior year at H-F. I was going to video tape almost everyday of my life for the next six school years and have 7 of my closet friends do the same to show how much you change over the years; where everyday could be a different person (ex. Sat-Franchelle, Sun-Gerren..and it would be switched up everyweek.) To be honest, i think people like us have the worst drama in the world..people like we attract it, and that's not alwats a positive thing. I wanted to show people around the nation about the partys, drinking, sex, relationships, struggles(like me trying to become a singer) and basicaly just drama that comes with just regular people. So email me back please and tell me what you think. This is deffinitly just a rough draft of what's to come but hey..it works right. If you could please contact me, my home phone number is 708-332-9229 and my cell phone is 708-543-4862, please contact me at any time. Thankyou soo much!!
Love Franchelle
Hey Guys, I have another idea!
I was thinking it would be kind of cool if there was a Real World for teenagers.
I understand we're underage and there are a lot of consequences that could come along with this idea but think of how wonderfuly high the ratings would be. It would be incredible if we could audition and have our lives changed by this expierence. It would change things for a lot of people and the Real World now is getting boring to be honest. Email me back please and Thanks
Love Franchelle

Idea for a reality show
written by Rev. Dr. Glenn Davis , June 18, 2007
Would about a different twist of a reality show. People are hurting with many problems and they need a spiritual advisor and guidance to cope with life in general (celebrities and the average Joe). That would work for the viewing audience that want somethig positive in the midst of hip hop. I

I would love to lead people into loving a higher power which ultimately leads to loving themselves and a positive outlook on life.

We can call it:: "I'm ready to change my life"
