With a sudden upsurge in the demand for sushi and Asian cuisine, many Asia-inspired dens have blossomed. Geisha A Go Go brings a new-fangled and funky twist on traditional Japanese dining. With its Pacific Rim inspired decor, an inviting curving bar accented with chocolate wood and the flashing lights of the Pachinko pinball machines; the atmosphere is very Feng Shui. A traditional Asian menu is offered, featuring Citrus Grilled Octopus, Stir Fried Korubuta Pork and Teriyaki Pork Ribs. For the more adventurous, try your hand at Hot-Rock cooking; Searing your own beef, shrimp or scallops over a well heated-stone.
The bar is stockpiled with quenching house infused sakes and $3 shots of shochu served by colorfully dressed waitresses that look like they just stepped out of a Japanimation film. The drink menu is lined with quirky cocktails such as Go Speed Racer, Katori Kick or the Hello Kitty; the ever popular $8 martini, made with shochu mixed with Sangaria strawberry soda and Smirnoff Citrus vodka. These creative libations along with the giant pictures of Jimi Hendrix, Jim Morrison and Sid Vicious may aide in guiding patrons into one of the four karaoke rooms. Thankfully the rooms are double-insulated and available to rent hourly for those besotted enough to tempt to channel their inner Harajuku.
