Are you glad that there have been less middle-of-the-jungle scenes recently?
I'm glad I haven't needed to use any insect repellant at work.
What’s your favorite shooting location?
To be honest it's the studio. Because they build some really sweet sets on this show. And whenever I work at the studio I always like to explore them and take pictures of myself in them with my phone.
What can you tell us about Season 5 so far? What can fans look forward to?
Not much. But it does pick up exactly where we left off in season 4. So I'm right there with Sayid when he sprung me from Santa Rosa. Also for me it's been a parade of costumes. Especially early in the season I go through a bunch of wardrobe changes.
Is it difficult for you and the other actors to keep up with the complex storylines? How carefully do you have to read every script?
This season is the hardest to keep up with. They're really out there. I don't scrutinize the scripts too much. But there are times I've gone back to look at older scripts to find information I may have missed.
Any interesting on-set stories from the past few months?
Hmm... that's a tough to answer. First funny stories never sound funny later. They become "location jokes" where the listener "should have been there." And second it's hard to talk about anything that happened on set without spoiling the plot. So instead I'll give you an anecdote from Season 4. When we were in the helicopter, surrounded on all sides by blue screens, we were shown the CGI footage of the helicopter crash. We saw the helicopter basically do a somersault on the ocean. And we wanted to make it believable inside the cabin. So we figured the only way to do that was to all quickly jumped up to the ceiling as they spun the camera at the "crash moment." It was pretty ridiculous. And I don't think any of it made the cut. But we couldn't stop laughing about it. See? It's not funny now. I rest my case. By the way we also couldn't take the fake "Baby Aaron" seriously after Jeff Fahey pointed out that his face was the spitting image of Kiefer Sutherland.
What’s the most common question that fans ask you about the show?
This season it's been "When the heck are guys coming back?" It's been so long.
What’s the most fun part of working on the show?
It sounds cheesy but it's getting to work with this cast. I look forward to seeing them everyday I work. We have a good time on this show.
Is it true that the show will end after Season 6? Have you thought about that and what you’ll do afterwards?
Yes. That's the plan. I have no idea yet what I'm going to do next. But I'm working on it. You work to get something that isn't even close to Lost. So now I have to figure out where to go from here.
